Present Continuous

When we talk about something happening 'now', 'at the moment' or in pictures, we often use the Present Continuous. For example :

(?) Is he swimming at the moment? Yes, he is.
(-) No, he isn't. He isn't swimming.
(+) He is reading at the moment.

EG : He is walking now. She is eating at the moment.

We use the auxiliary verb 'to be' plus 'ing' on the main verb.

I am ... ing
You are ... ing
He is ... ing
She is ... ing
It is ... ing
We are ... ing
You are ... ing
They are ... ing

What are the people in the pictures below doing? Say your answers out loud or write them as a comment below.

Teachers: This is a worksheet to practice the Present Continuous, which I've found to be very useful for lower level students, both children and adults. I'm not sure if I have permission to reproduce the images, so if they're yours please let me know :)

You can download the PDF file here .
